Programs

Skill Training Program on Tailoring

The skill training program on tailoring was conducted to empower women and youth in Sirkali by equipping them with tailoring skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and enhance their livelihood opportunities. The program created a sense of confidence and self-reliance among participants, especially women, fostering opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment. Majority of participants were women from economically weaker sections and unemployed youth.

Relief Material Distribution drive

This initiative aims to alleviate hardships faced by daily wage workers, elderly individuals, and economically disadvantaged communities. Relief kits containing essential items such as rice, pulses, cooking oil, masks, sanitizers, and basic medicines are distributed to families. The Trust ensures all safety protocols are followed during the distribution to prevent any risk of infection. Beneficiaries express heartfelt gratitude, and the initiative reinforces Annai Trust's commitment to serving communities in times of crisis.

Worker Empowerment and Decent Work Initiative

This initiative focuses on empowering textile workers in Tiruppur by ensuring their rights and improving their working conditions. Key achievements include: 1. Awareness Workshops: Organizing workshops for workers covering crucial topics such as minimum wages, Employees' State Insurance (ESI), and Provident Fund (PF). 2. Increased Awareness: Over 7,700 workers are now aware of their entitlements regarding insurance and various government welfare schemes. 3. Women's Union Formation: Establishing trade unions exclusively for women (GAGU & ANUKATHAM) to provide a dedicated platform for advocacy and support. The overall aim is to ensure decent work for all textile workers in the region.

Break the cycle of poverty through education

The program's goal is to break the cycle of poverty through education, creating a more equitable future. By investing in Shooting Stars, you’re not only supporting scholars but also uplifting their families and communities. We provide financial aid to underprivileged students, including aspiring doctors and engineers studying in Government or quota-based colleges. In addition to financial support, we offer training in English, public speaking, and professional mentoring to help students succeed in their careers. Once established, we encourage them to mentor others and sponsor more scholars. Last year, ARPNA and SSF, USA, supported 700 students and trained 800 more. With the support of HOPE 3 Foundation and SEEEDS Foundatation ,USA, ARPNA sponsored 295 poor college students from Tamilnadu. We have organized a career guidance programme for the students.

Social Enterprises and Sustainable Development

A workshop on "Social Development and Sustainable Development" was held at Chennai and Bangalore, aimed at exploring the link between social equity and environmental sustainability. It gathered policymakers, academics, NGOs, and youth leaders to discuss strategies for inclusive growth and sustainable practices. The total number of participants is 95.

Health camps and providing Medical equipment

* Organized large scale , medical camp served 230 patients. Out of these, 12 patients needs special care and referred to Annamalai Medical college. * Laboratory testing equipment donated to Nannilam government hospital. * Ventilator machine donated to Mayiladuturai Government Hospital. * Blood bank medical equipment donated to Karaikal Government Hospital. * Modular kitchen equipment to Cuddalore Government Hospital donated to improve the hospital meals services for patient. *Distributed dry rations to 600 TB affected families.

Literacy campaign and Job fair for youth

* ARPNA successfully ignited the light of literacy across Tiruvarur and Mayiladuthurai empowering communities with knowledge and a brighter future. * Foster a learning culture through events including Book fairs, cultural programmes and competition. * Over 200 participants attended the job fair to connect with career guidance and promote skill development.

Jal Dooth(Water conservation) Awareness programme and Livelihood training for Farmers

* Importance of water conservation. * Proper water management . * Rain water harvesting methods. * Empower local villagers to take charge on water resources. * 1040 farmers benefited from the awareness programme conducted by ARPNA on the water budget and had an additional income on the agriculture by this Jal Dooth programme and gave training to the farmers.

Swachhta packwada -Cleanliness campaign

* Raise awareness about sanitation. * Encourage community to maintain clean environment. * Promote cleanliness, hygiene, waste management. * 1500 village people aware of cleanness of Swachta packwada programme.

Safe Drinking Water

* Enhance water quality, reduce health risks associated with unsafe water. * Installed Reverse Osmosis(RO) with the support of ONGC. * 78000 people benefited from the safe water drinking programme.

Women headed families and Dependent

Over 52 women headed families gained the support offered by ARPNA Trust in the field of Tailoring training, Aari embroidery work training and skill development programmes.

Women's day celebration at "ARPNA TRUST OFFICE"

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, ARPNA TRUST organized a meaningful celebration at its office premises to honor the strength, achievements, and rights of women. The event brought together staff, students, and special guests, highlighting empowerment, awareness, and talent. Programme Highlights: • The event commenced with a prayer song, setting a respectful and uplifting tone. • Mrs. Santhi V., Executive Director, delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing ARPNA’s commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusive growth. • The Project Manager G Ayyappan., addressed the audience on the complaint mechanism of adolescent girls in place to ensure a safe and responsive environment within the organization. • Mrs. Kavitha, Advocate and Chief Guest, delivered a special address on the POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment), explaining the legal framework, mechanisms, and protections available to women in workplaces. Her insights provided valuable awareness and encouraged open dialogue. • Certificates were distributed to students who successfully completed their computer training programs, recognizing their hard work and achievements. • A talent competition was held for students, showcasing their creativity, confidence, and expression in areas such as art, speech, and performance. • The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and supporters, followed by the National Anthem, reinforcing unity and pride. Participation: • A total of 50 students participated in the celebration, making it an engaging and inclusive event. This Women’s Day celebration served as a platform not only for honoring women but also for spreading legal awareness, women empowerment, building confidence, and recognizing accomplishments within the ARPNA community

From Hope to Health: ARPNA’s Mobile Medical Unit Hits the Road

A New Chapter in Community Health Begins! ARPNA NGO is proud to announce the launch of our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Program a heartfelt initiative dedicated to bringing primary healthcare directly to the doorsteps of those who need it most, especially in underserved and remote communities. The day began with a soulful pooja and prayer song, setting a serene and purposeful tone for what would become a truly inspiring occasion of service and solidarity. This meaningful initiative has been made possible through the generous support of our donor, Samarpaka Seva Trust, Bangalore, and the medical partnership of Dr. Balaji’s Health Care, Sirkali. From Training to Employment: Celebrating 100 Success Stories at ARPNA NGO

Celebrating Success! ARPNA NGO is proud to announce the successful completion of the final stage of our Two-Wheeler Mechanism Training & Job Placement Project! Over the course of the program, 100 youth have been trained and placed, including 75 men and 25 women. The final batch focused on empowering women, with 15 participants in Bangalore and 10 in Chennai completing the training successfully. Women’s Day Celebration at Alagappa University

On 9 March 2026, ARPNA NGO, in collaboration with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), proudly organized a vibrant International Women’s Day celebration at Alagappa University in Karaikkudi. The event brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to honor the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women in society. The celebration commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge, hope, and empowerment. This was followed by inspiring guest addresses, engaging discussions, and lively cultural performances, all of which highlighted the creativity, talent, and leadership potential of women. Participants actively reflected on the themes of women’s empowerment, equality, and leadership, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and shared purpose. Construction of Kitchen Shed and Store Room at Anadammal Old Age Home, Tiruvarur District

ARPNA NGO, in collaboration with ONGC Karaikkal, initiated the construction of a kitchen shed and store room at Anadammal Old Age Home, located in Perumpannaiyur Village, Tiruvarur District, on 18th March 2026. This initiative has been undertaken with the objective of improving the living conditions of elderly residents by providing a safe, hygienic, and well-structured space for cooking and food storage. Access to proper kitchen infrastructure is essential to ensure nutritious meal preparation, cleanliness, and overall well-being of the residents. The construction of the kitchen shed and store room will significantly enhance the operational efficiency of the old age home while also promoting dignity and comfort for its residents. ARPNA NGO expresses its sincere gratitude to ONGC Karaikkal for their valuable support and commitment towards community development and elderly care. This collaboration reflects a shared vision of creating sustainable and impactful interventions for vulnerable communities.

Construction of Toilet Facilities at Nadarajan Thamayanthi School, Nagapattinam

ARPNA NGO is pleased to share a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to improve school infrastructure and promote hygiene among students. On 16th March 2026, ARPNA NGO, in collaboration with ONGC Karaikkal, initiated the construction of toilet facilities at Nadarajan Thamayanthi School, located in Nagapattinam District. The project has been undertaken with an estimated cost of ₹10 lakhs. This initiative is aimed at creating a safe, hygienic, and inclusive environment for students. Access to proper sanitation facilities is essential for ensuring the health, dignity, and regular attendance of children, particularly for girls. By addressing this critical need, the project seeks to encourage better hygiene practices and support uninterrupted education. The development of adequate sanitation infrastructure will contribute to a more conducive learning environment and overall well-being of the students, thereby strengthening the foundation for their academic growth. Celebrating Skills, Empowering Futures!

We are excited to announce a proud milestone at ARPNA NGO! Our Graduation Ceremony (Jan–Mar 2026 Batch) celebrated the successful completion of training for 45 students in: Tailoring Aari Embroidery Computer Basics With great joy, we share that this achievement marks the beginning of a bright and promising future ahead for all our students. Each certification represents not just course completion, but confidence, independence, and new opportunities. As part of our commitment to empowerment, 3 tailoring machines were distributed free of cost to women beneficiaries (widows and single mothers) to support their livelihood and help them become financially independent. To promote healthy living, ARPNA NGO also conducted a Millets Nutrition Food Competition to increase awareness on millet intake among students. Students showcased innovative and nutritious millet-based dishes, reflecting creativity and awareness. All participants were appreciated for their efforts and honored with a small token of love for their innovation. “Empowering skills, nurturing health, and building brighter futures.” A heartfelt thank you to our trainers, partners, and supporters for making this journey impactful. ARPNA Women’s Day Celebration 2026

ARPNA NGO celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm and purpose, bringing together students and the ARPNA team for a meaningful program focused on empowerment, creativity, and community engagement. The celebration began with a soulful prayer song by Sridevi Nagarajan, setting a warm and positive tone for the event. This was followed by an inspiring address from ARPNA’s Executive Director, Mrs. V. Santhi, who spoke about the importance of empowering women, fostering leadership, and creating equal opportunities for young women to grow and succeed. Program Manager Mr. G. Ayyappan also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to believe in their abilities and confidently pursue their goals. One of the highlights of the event was the Food Carnival, where many students enthusiastically brought and showcased a variety of nutritious homemade dishes. The activity promoted awareness about healthy eating habits while allowing students to demonstrate their creativity and knowledge about nutrition. The best presentations were recognized, and winners were announced for their outstanding efforts. The celebration also included fun games and interactive activities, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. Students further expressed their creativity through an Individual Talent Show, where they showcased their unique talents and skills. The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony honoring the winners of the various competitions. As a token of appreciation, ARPNA presented a small memento to all participating students. The event ended with the National Anthem, marking the close of a joyful and inspiring celebration. Ayyappan, Project Manager, who emphasized the importance of skill-based education and delivered an informative session on financial literacy, guiding participants toward responsible financial planning and economic independence. The Project Coordinator subsequently shared an awareness session on insurance schemes, highlighting the significance of financial protection and social security. Kasadara Karga – A Transformative Life Skill Education Programme

Programme Name: Kasadara Karga Date: 23.12.2025 Venue: Open Auditorium, Karaikkal Polytechnic College, Karaikkal Karaikkal Polytechnic College proudly hosted “Kasadara Karga”, a grand life skill education programme aimed at shaping young minds and empowering the future generation. The programme reached 3,000 students from Grades 9 to 12, focusing on educational improvement, higher education goals, personality development, industrial awareness, and life values. The highlight of the event was the inspiring session by renowned tamil actor and motivational speaker Mr. Dhamu, who captivated the students with his unique blend of humor and emotion. Through powerful real-life examples, he spoke about positive thinking, self-discipline, building a strong educational foundation, nurturing healthy student–parent relationships, and maintaining focus in life. His heartfelt delivery filled the auditorium with both laughter and tears, leaving a deep and lasting impact on every student present. Following this, Karaikkal District Collector, ASPS Mr. Ravi Prakash, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of self-confidence, self-belief, and hard work in achieving success. Workshop based on Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence for Textile workers at Tiruppur

A workshop on Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) held on February 28, 2025, in Tirupur brought together workers from the textile and garment industries to deepen their understanding of HREDD principles. The workshop's key objectives included empowering trade unions to drive the HREDD process for promoting decent work, preparing participants for upcoming legislation, and underscoring the critical role of gender and stakeholder consultation in responsible business practices. The workshop outlined the Six Steps of Due Diligence, emphasizing a holistic approach to sustainability. Home based workers demands

"Anugatham, the Home-Based Workers Trade Union, under the able guidance of ARPNA Trust, has raised five demands to ensure the well-being and empowerment of home-based workers in the district. The union calls for the registration of home-based workers as formal laborers, guaranteeing their rightful recognition and benefits. The demands include maternity compensation of up to ₹50,000, a monthly pension of ₹5,000 to ensure financial security, and ₹5 lakh compensation for death and disability. In addition, the union advocates for the inclusion of the first five benefits of the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme, and the establishment of a new Welfare Board for Home-Based Workers to oversee and safeguard their rights. These efforts are not just demands—they are a call for justice, respect, and a brighter future for the backbone of our labor force. With the support of the District Collector of Tiruppur, we are confident that these crucial steps will pave the way for a more equitable and dignified life for home-based workers."

Social security insurance schemes awareness on Home based workers in Tiruppur

In an effort to empower home-based workers in Tirupur, Anugatham, the trade union representing these workers on a contract basis, is actively addressing crucial challenges such as job insecurity and lack of awareness about social security schemes. Many of these workers, who are vital to the local economy, have historically faced barriers in accessing essential benefits and protections. On January 25th, ARPNA Trust took a significant step forward by conducting an enlightening awareness workshop on government-based insurance schemes. This workshop aimed to equip home-based workers with the knowledge they need to access social security programs, ensuring they are better informed and can secure their future with the support of government initiatives. It’s a powerful move towards building a stronger, more informed workforce with the confidence to access the benefits they deserve.
